Is church membership optional? We are called to be body builders. We are so identified with Jesus that he is the head, and we are interdependent members of the Body of Christ. The Apostle Paul establishes our resources (spiritual gifts), roles (serving in the church) and responsibilities (handling conflict). These involve care and challenge in the same way we build the body by exertion and recovery.
